Install printers via IP address

When adding a printer or scanner windows automatically searches for the available devices on your current network. If the provided list does not include the device you are attempting to install or your in an office environment with multiple of the same model printers installed on the network and are unsure of which one to select you can choose to install the printer via IP address.

In either case the first steps are simple, ensure the printer is connected to the network and turned on.

Fix a Microsoft office application

You might find yourself trying to fix a Microsoft office application such as Word or Excel if it won’t open or isn’t working correctly. Sometimes restarting your PC will fix the problem. If that doesn’t work, you can try repairing it. When you’re done, you might need to restart your computer.

Repair Office from the Control Panel

  1. Click the Start button Windows 7 Start button > Control Panel.
  2. From Category view, under Programs, select Uninstall a program.
  3. Click the Office product you want to repair, and then click Change. Note: If you have a suite such as Office 365 Home, or Office Home and Student 2013 or 2016, search for the suite name, even if it’s just a particular application you want to repair such as Word or Excel. If you have a standalone application such as Word or Excel, search for the application name.
  4. Depending if your copy of Office is Click-to-run or an MSI-based install, do the following for your Office installation type:

There are many known and documented cases of disk usage at 100% on Windows 10 systems. A search online will likely render many forum posts of users asking how to fix this. Here are some of the common fixes recommended that yielded results.

Lets start with the easier of the possible solutions and build our way up.

Temporarily disable your antivirus

Disable your antivirus and firewall software temporarily to see if it may be the culprit of your problem. We’ve seen this problem happen when using certain antivirus software. If you’re still experiencing disk usage at 100% jump to the next solution.

If the problem is fixed, try updating your antivirus first. Assuming that doesn’t work re-install the antivirus software, and finally consider replacing it if the issue persists.

As a small company we don’t have the resources bigger organizations can deploy to finding the right employee. I don’t have the personnel or time necessary to review each resume/application we get and verify the information.

Making things worse is that many use templates or resume creation tools like those found on indeed to create their resume, so all resumes look and read the same. There are many articles on hiring good employees and full of suggestions like:

  • Pre-screen candidates
  • Review each resume carefully
  • Ask the right interview questions
  • etc.

Finding the right employee is easier if we narrow our search by testing our candidates for the skills we require throughout the hiring process.

Doing this we were able to quickly narrow eligible candidates with minimal effort and in a very short period of time (minutes vs. hours).

At the time of this writing we are hiring for three different positions, one is a social media associate. Our requirements among others called for a self motivated, focused and responsible person with attention to detail who is able to work independently.
