“Database Leak Exposes 3.3 million Hello Kitty Fans”

Researcher Chris Vickery discovered a database that houses 3.3 million accounts and has ties to many of Hello Kitty portals. The official online community for Hello Kitty and other Sanrio characters, sanriotown.com. After making the discovery Vickery contacted Salted Hash and Databreaches.net Saturday evening. The Hello Kitty brand is very popular around the world, fans include people of all ages, so the immediate concern is that the database might contain the personal information of children. Exposed records includes, first and last names, birthday, gender, country of origin, email addresses, security questions, and passwords. Sanrio says the investigation is ongoing, but for now the leaked databases have been secured.  For the full story, click here
