IRS Unveils New Cyber Safeguards

This past February, the Internal Revenue Service announced that hackers had used stolen Social Security numbers and a program to guess PINs leading hackers to steal 100,000 taxpayer logins.  The hack was eventually stopped by the IRS and because of this occurrence the IRS is now eliminating PIN numbers as a security safeguard and online users must now use information from prior tax returns.  To stay ahead of hackers the IRS is implementing new cyber security initiatives for 2017 and are adding a 16-digit verification codes to W-2 forms.  For the full article, click here
