“Wendy’s locations Impacted by POS Malware”
Wendy’s Co. a quick-serve restaurant chain admitted it was investigating claims that a number of its locations were the victims of a data breech. The claims were made in January and nearly seven months later, Wendy’s is now reporting that 1,025 of its locations were affected by POS malware. Initially the restaurant chain, reported that the POS malware had affected fewer than 300 of its locations. The new disclosure was released on July 7th and according to Wendy’s two different malware attacks impacted its locations. Based on Wendy’s investigation, the cause of the breaches appears to be a remote access attack against the POS service provider. For the full article, click here
