Facebooks “Explore Feed” feature is now on mobile and on desktop. A few days ago, Facebook confirmed the news.
With the Explore Feed feature, Facebook users are presented with a much wider selection of content. As opposed to the standard posts which display only friends and pages the Facebook user follows. The Explore Feed includes articles, videos, posts, photos and more from sources that you currently don’t follow. Your past likes and shares will influence the content in the Explore Feed, so items in the Explore Feed will be similar to those you liked, shared and even those popular among your network of friends. To find the Explore Feed on your mobile, go to the “More” menu in the bottom navigation section. On a desktop you can find the Explore Feed along the left sidebar within the “Explore” section.
Here is a statement from Facebook:
“We are beginning to roll out a complementary feed of popular articles, videos, and photos, automatically customized for each person based on content that might be interesting to them,” the Facebook spokesperson said. “We’ve heard from people that they want an easy way to explore relevant content from Pages they haven’t connected with yet.”
The Explore Feed feature will help Facebook users discover more interesting content and of course, this will increase users time-on-site.
